The Chitabe Concession, from which the lodge takes its name, is renowned for its large predator numbers due to its varied habitats. The grassy floodplains and tranquil waterways give rise to high quantities of plains game thus attracting predators from all around making this an ideal location for land-based safari activities.

 

The lodge is located on an ancient wooded island and build high above the floodplain. The communal guest areas benefit from outstanding views of the small lediba, (meaning lagoon or waterhole) from which the lodge takes its name.

Chitabe Lediba consists of just five Meru-style tents, two of which are family tents.  Each tent includes twin or king size beds draped with mosquito netting and luxurious soft furnishings.  The en-suite facilities include both indoor and outdoor showers, double vanities and separate w.c.  The family tents have adjoining bedrooms and shared bathroom facilities.

 

Step out onto your private wooden deck and take in the stunning view of the African bush.  The cozy seating area allows you to relax in comfort whilst scanning the glassy floodplain for the local wildlife.

The facilities on offer at Chitabe Lediba include a central fire pit, ideal for pre-dinner drinks and a catch-up with your fellow guests.  Meals are taken in the dining room or out in the traditional boma under the stars.

 

Relax on the sun deck or take a dip in the lodge pool and let the children play with the various books and activities on offer.

Activities

The Okavango Delta offers guests an opportunity to explore the wild bush of Africa in the experienced hands of highly qualified guides.  Game drives are conducted in the morning and early evening when the predators are active in propose built open game drive vehicles specially designed for both traversing the bush and the delta waters. 

 

If the opportunity presents itself, we highly recommend you accompany your guide on a bush walk to experience the African bush in the most natural way possible, your guide will point out animal tracks along with the unique plant life of the Okavango Delta.
