Private location
Savuti, a remote and wild corner of Chobe National Park, stretches from the park’s northern boundaries to the Linyanti River. It’s named after the enigmatic Savuti Channel, which flows and dries up intermittently, seemingly unrelated to rainfall: it flowed in 2009, again in 2013 and no-one can say when it will flow again.
Rooms
You’ll love the spaciousness of the mobile tents. Each of the five canvas tents boasts a comfortable double or twin bed, as well as an ensuite bathroom, separate flush WC and an outdoor bucket shower – steaming hot water is available on request.
A private butler is on hand to assist with any requirements. Well-worn game paths that meander through the safari tents and down to the water’s edge hold the promise of up-close-and-personal sightings.
Facilities
Stargaze to your hearts content as you dine beneath a blanket of stars: all meals are freshly prepared over an open fire. Meal times turn into story time as you swap details of your day’s adventures and wildlife sightings. Tune in to the day-night soundscape of Savuti’s wild spaces.
Drop off the radar. With no Wi-Fi or electricity, you have the rare opportunity to disconnect from the everyday world and reconnect with yourself and each adventure-filled moment. Priceless, uninterrupted time with those people special to you, new friendships, and memories to last a lifetime. However, a facilitiy is available for charging batteries and camera equipment.
Activities
What would you like to see? professionally trained guides will tailor your interpretive game drive around your preference – whether it’s tracking a particular species or spending extra time at each sighting – as you explore the game-rich landscapes of Savuti.
Explore the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills, a small hilly outcrop overlooking the landscape. Marvel at the avenue of ancient baobab trees a short distance away at the edge of the wide open plains of Savuie. Sunset colours provide a superb photographic opportunity.
